How hAPPy family Can Work For Your Family
Once you have added your child's name and picture to the app, you and your child will have fun doing the following as you personalize the app to work for your family. Before you know it, your child will be on their hAPPy way to collecting positive behavior!
Themes:
Scroll through jar screens where your child will choose a collecting theme - collecting images of marbles, ocean animals, treasures, bugs, candy and more.
Positive Behaviors:
Assign positive behaviors to images within your child's collecting jar theme. For example, if your child is collecting candy, the lollipop = getting ready for school by 7:00AM. You can choose from a menu of suggested behaviors or behaviors can be personalized to work for your family.
Rewards:
Rewards can be chosen from a menu of suggested rewards or can be personalized to work for your family. When thinking of rewards, be creative and remember rewards do not always have to cost money.
Collecting:
When your child earns an image for positive behavior, let your child enjoy the fun of dragging the image into the jar. For added fun, parents can have their own jar for positive parenting behavior!
Rewards Earned:
Once all the images have been collected for a reward, the items will disappear and the reward will appear on the Rewards Earned Screen. Now it is time to start the collecting fun again... try different themes to keep it interesting. After realizing that chore charts were too hard to keep up with, and were not practical for the types of behavior I was wanting to recognize, hAPPy family has been perfect. The simplicity of the app is perfect for me and allows my kids to get their rewards themselves as well. I'm a huge believer in positive reinforcement and this app reminds us as parents to be looking to reward the good behaviors our kids exhibit.

our main use for it right now is potty training our 3 year old son! We use it when we are "on the go". He gets marbles for when he goes to the bathroom when we are out a playground, running errands, etc etc. When he gets to 10 marbles, I buy him a toy! He gets so excited about it. He is interested in bugs, so I will put bugs in the jar next. It really is a fun and useful app and it's working wonders for finally potty training our son!

We have tried reward charts and other various ways to promote positive behaviors, but this by far has been the most fun for the kids. For the first time, they are actually begging us to use a reward system. The app and the kids are helping us to stay consistent.
